[Maine-birds] Re: Western Tanager

Western Tanager present today at 11:30am. Roosting in the cedars near the model lighthouse left of the main building. Go left from the parking area and follow the path down toward the cliff overlook.

Found about 2:00 pm Wed, Dec. 9 in the grassy edge of the parking area just East of the Cliff House in Ogunquit. The bird was a pale adult female. Large orange bill, light gray crown, darker gray mantle and wings, with two prominent white wing bars. Light yellow wash on sides of head, throat and upper breast.
