My mother upriver reports that the buffleheads are back. My parents
live on part of the Megunticook River that forms an old mill pond, so
they get significantly better wildlife sightings than the stretch we
live on, which is much narrower and closer to town. And part of the
mill pond stays open year-round, so they get good duckage through the
winter, and of course, the concurrent eagle visitations.
