[Maine-birds] Monhegan-Great Blue Herons

The Black Duck (shop on Monhegan) posted this on Facebook today:

Black Duck Emporium
"Black Duck had to close for a few minutes this morning because.....
we had to head to Lobster Cove to see the HUGE flock of Great Blue
Heron hanging out in the trees behind the Cundy house. We counted 25
in the air and there were still a few in the trees. Unbelievable!"

That would be a cool sighting anywhere, but particularly special on
Monhegan. Too bad they didn't come through last week when all the hot
shot bird photographers were around (and me)!
