[Maine-birds] Red-headed Woodpecker

I admit, I never expected to put THIS on my yard list. A juvenile Red-headed Woodpecker just foraged along my tree line outside the porch (northeast side of Pushaw Lake in Hudson). I doubt he’ll stick around; he seemed to be moving through. Unbelievably, I now have Red-headed Woodpecker, Red-bellied Woodpecker, and Black-backed Woodpecker on my yard list.

 

I put a grainy photo up on www.mainebirdingtrail.com. For good measure, I also threw up Linda Powell’s photo of the Northern Wheatear that will be in my Bangor Daily News column this coming Saturday.
