Jeff Webb and I birded Sears Island in Searsport today. At the jetty we found a small mixed flock of Song, Savannah and White-crowned Sparrows, a CAROLINA WREN, some Yellow-rumped and a couple Blackpoll Warblers, all hanging out in and around the large Rugosa bush growing up out of the granite rocks that face the red buoy. I've seen other passerines clustered in that area before, and I'm wondering if it might be a mini-staging area. The main migrant area (the beginning of the paved road just after the causeway) was devoid of activity.
