Re: [Maine-birds] Black Skimmer & Hudsonian Godwit

To add to the report on birds at Pine Point, there were at least 2 American Golden Plovers along with the Hudwit and Skimmer. Plenty of Dunlins, Semipalmated Plovers and Sandpipers and Greater Yellowlegs showed up as well as the tide fell this afternoon, and a few hundred Bonnaparte's Gulls filled the river mouth.

I went down to Pine Point this morning to see if these birds were still
around. When I got there I found Joanne Stevens & Pat Sanborn sitting on
the rocks on the Jones Creek side looking for them. Just after I got
there we found the godwit among the Black-bellied Plovers. The skimmer
was nowhere to be seen. Pat & Joanne had to leave. I went over to the
other side of the parking lot to scan the river. As I did the skimmer
flew upriver. I went back to the other side & there it was with the
plovers. Unfortunately, I didn't have either Joanne's or Pat's cel #.
This was shortly after 11:00 am.
I tried to send an e-mail from my phone but it was getting refused by
the server. Gotta find out what's causing that.
