Around 9:30 this morning, a weekend group from Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport stopped by Nubble Light. What a wonderful visit it was! Immediately upon our arrival, we had a lovely drake Barrow's Goldeneye together with a couple of Common Goldeneyes and two hen Black Scoters. There may have been a hen Barrow's in the group, but we were never able to get a definitive look.
In addition to those ducks cited above, there were Long-tailed Ducks, Common Eiders, Red-breasted Mergansers, a few Horned Grebes, and a flock of about 30 Purple Sandpipers.
Apologies for the tardy post -- we've been on the go.
All the best!
