Hi all -- Wanted to report sighting a lone Razorbill from the Bar Harbor Shore Path today slightly before noon. It was inside of the breakwater.
Also, from Manset Shore earlier this morning, noticed a pair of Common Eider in pre-copulatory behavior that was very interesting to watch. The hen was nearly prone on the water with an outstretched neck, and looked positively frozen in that position. Tail slightly fanned. Drake circled her, did rising from the water wing-flaps, dipped bill forward into water repeatedly, etc. We missed the copulation if it occurred, as we were switching places using the scope! --
