Re: [Maine-birds] Re: QUERY: Nesting Sharp-shinned Hawks in York, Cumberland, and Sagadahoc counties

Hello,

I am also looking for records of Nesting Raptors as well for Hancock and Washington Counties to help finish out the "1st ed. Field Guide to the Birds of Mount Desert Island and Hancock County". .   My interest are in Accipiter's in  general,  especially Northern Goshawk, a nesting bird here in the forests of Three Pines Bird Sanctuary,  Knox Road, Town Hill .   These birds need large enclosed undisturbed forests with tall roosts (White Pine's)as observation decks.  My main focus are Mount Desert Island nesting Raptors.

If anyone has confirmed sightings of Gyrfalcon  on MDI that would be important information as well.

Thank you

Michael

I'm interested in nesting records or observations of 2 adults in June and July for York, Cumberland, and Sagadahoc counties.  I'm not concerned about immature birds at feeders during the summer but am very interested in anything suggesting nesting for these three counties.

Thanks.

Best, Peter
