[Maine-birds] Scarborough Marsh / Pine Point - Egrets, Gadwall, Wigeons and a One-eyed Eider

Started at Dunstan's Landing where i got my FOY Great Egret.  A Bald Eagle flew over being harassed by a Herring Gull.  Also a TV, several Black Duycks, Mallards and Geese and 4 GW Teals.  From there I headed to Pelreco for my FOY Snowy Egret, 6 Gadwall, and a Great Egret.  A pair of Bufflehead and some RB-Mergansers were in the marsh on the opposite side of Pine Point Rd.

Pine Point was full of Eiders, Loons in various stages of molt, one horned grebe and several LT-Ducks.

I noticed a hen eider that had one eye.  It appears to have two eyes, but one of them doesn't appear to have fully developed.  Two photos are posted on the Maine Birds flickr page.

Anyone can join flickr and post to this group to share with all Maine birders.

Seavy's Landing had over 36 RB Mergansers.  Three large rafts that merged together.  I know they were diving bit in one image I counted 36, and I know there had to be more, probably closer to 50.

Finished the day on the Eastern Trail.  (Sorry Wally)  With a Great Egret, Two American Wigeons and several more loons.

Cheers,
Chuck
