[Maine-birds] Erynn Call presenting at Maine Audubon

Hello Maine Birders,

I wanted to let you know about two free programs at Maine Audubon focused on birds.  Our monthly Speaker Series is tomorrow night (3/27), starting at 7 p.m. at Gilsland Farm.  Erynn Call, a PhD student at the University of Maine, will talk about her research.  Erynn has been conducting bird surveys along Maine rivers since 2009 to look at the effects of dam removal on river ecosystems.  You can find more information about the talk on our website.

On Saturday, 3/30, Shawn Carey will present his documentary Epic Journeys: Tracking the Migration of Shorebirds in the Western Hemisphere.  "Epic Journeys", looks at three shorebird species—red knot, piping plover and semipalmated sandpiper—and the challenges these species face during each of their monumental annual treks.  The showing starts at 6 p.m. at Gilsland Farm in FalmouthBoth events are free.

Thanks,
Mike Windsor
