[Maine-birds] Rumored Tufted Duck, etc.

Got a third-hand report yesterday of a Tufted Duck in a small pond on the Phippsburg Peninsula.  Don't know the source, but it's someone who at least knows that such a species exists, so I spent the morning checking usual haunts.

Seen along the way was an early Snowy Egret along the edges of Berry's Mill Pond. Totally unexpected here and now.

Also, on Center Pond, 4 loafers included 2 Ring-Necked Ducks and 2 Lesser Scaup.

A locally arriving DCCorm was diving in Winnegance Lake.

2 BHCowbirds joined a small mixed flock of grackles and RWBs along Rt 209.

But no Tufted Duck.
