[Maine-birds] FOY Pine Siskin- Mt.Desert Island/Town Hill

I am happy to report the appearance of our first 2013 Pine Siskin, at the feeder with Amer. Goldfinches.
Also in March, a Dk. Eyed Junco showed up on the 12th. It reappeared on the 20th and, in an attempt to make it welcome, we shoveled a grassy patch under the feeder, provided seed goodies strewn on the ground, made a separate cracked corn and peanut offering at the end of the driveway to lure larger birds, like the MODOs, and assembled a collection of  tennis balls, for throwing at the squirrels. Today we were rewarded; our Dk. Eyed Junco population has doubled. We now have two. A single Junco was here only for 2 days in Dec. 2012, none at all seen in Jan. 2013, and one showed up for 2 days in Feb.  We are hoping to see more of them.
The yard birds seen daily since Jan 1 have included:
Red-bellied Woodpecker,
White-breasted Nuthatch,
Red-breasted Nuthatches,
Hairy Woodpeckers,
Downy Woodpeckers,
Amer. Goldfinches,
Blue Jays,
Bl. Capped Chickadees,
Amer. Crows,
Mourning Doves,
Brown Creepers.
in the woods just beyond the yard a very active Pileated Woodpecker seen or heard almost every morning, and the occasional Raven fly-by. Also, Red-polls visited for a day or two in Jan and Feb, but not yet in March.
0 (Zero) Purple Finch
0 (Zero) White-throated Sparrow
