Mount Desert Island Birds:  Road Scholar trip report 19 Warblers and 105 species

Field Course work started on Monday thru Friday with field trips to Petit Manan and hot spots around Mount Desert Island. This is the 4^th year we have run this popular program focused on Gulf of Maine Ornithology and Ecology. One amazing fall out entertained us all afternoon on Thursday.  The groups saw a total of 3129 individual birds with 19 species of Warblers.  Morning and Wilson's Warbler were highlights and the trip on the Starfish Enterprise was spectacular and an amazing way to see the Ocean. Short-billed Dowitcher and Eastern Willet was part of a coastal show which will be hard to repeat. SCIENCE is the focus of this course and the intricacies of field ornithology. This is a collaboration between Coastal Kayaking and Down East Nature Tours  in Bar Harbor.  Thank you for the opportunity.
