[Maine-birds] Pink-footed Goose - Damariscotta

A bird I took for a domestic kind of a goose, flew into the Great Salt Bay Wildlife Preserve yesterday while I was listening for rails in the rain.

Bill Sheehan and others to whom he sent my poor photos, seem to think it's a Pink-Footed Goose.  I still think there may be questions as to its provenance, although the bird did not have a sagging lower abdomen (as many domestic geese have) and flew well.  He was also quite wary of me.  It definitely seemed to be pair-bonded to a larger Canada Goose.

follow the map attached to this:  http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S14237130

Where it is referred to as "Graylag Goose (domestic type)".  I may change that after listening to all the arguments pro or con.

Or just head up Rt 1, past Damariscotta turnoff, then left at the blinker on Belvedere Rd.  Watch for signs for the preserve next to a farmhouse on the left.  If you see this bird, maybe the rain will slow down and you can take better photos
