[Maine-birds] Sears Island: Wilson's Warblers, W-W Crossbills & more

Jeff Webb and I birded Sears Island this morning/afternoon.   A light migrant wave seemed to be taking place at the beginning of the causeway and the jetty ends of the island, with things mostly quiet along the road in between.   Not huge numbers of passerines (dipped completely on Vireos), or flying insects, but things were fairly active considering the cool foggy conditions.

54 species total

Highlights:

13 species of warblers including 2 WILSON'S
5 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS flying over
A pair of SCARLET TANAGERS (woods near cattail marsh area @ jetty end)
A pair of INDIGO BUNTINGS (circular clearing at jetty end)
1 WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW

Also some Least Sandpipers and several vocalizing Alder Flycatchers
