I wish I were there...
At the end of Frank's message about Monhegan you will read his lament about a Brown Booby found near his home in Connecticut. That story is amazing and told by Nick Bonomo and Larry Flynn. After reading Nick's post, one might ponder what ship-assisted birds mean for listers. You'll see.

Subject: Monhegan hopping 5/23
Hi Louis,
I'm not subscribed to Maine Birds; could you please post this for me?
Linda and I arrived on Monhegan Is. 11:30 after taking the 10:30 ferry from Port Clyde today 5/23.
The place was hopping today. We saw 14 species warblers (and maybe 6 additional species seen by others), including 250 American Redstarts - just in town. Also male Mourning, Bay-breasted, etc; 30 "Traill's" Flycatcher, Clay-colored and Am Tree Sparrows, many Lincoln's and White-crowned. Many RB Grosbeaks. From ferry we saw 2 Atlantic Puffins, 1 Razorbill, 2 N. Gannets, many Common Loons, 6 Laughing Gulls. Enjoyed birding with Bruce Barker, Doug Hitchcox, Sol Satin, etc.

p.s. but I missed the opportunity to look for CT's first BROWN BOOBY today!
