[Maine-birds] 11th Annual Down East Spring Birding Festival - May 23 through May 26

Here's a great way to spend Memorial Day weekend - head to the annual Down East Spring Birding Festival!  This festival provides a unique birding experience during spring migration and breeding season with four days of  guided hikes, self-guided explorations, boat tours and presentations led by area experts.  The venues stretch from the Calais area all the way down the coast to the Lubec and Cutler areas, to Addison and out to sea (how about Machias Seal Island to see puffins?).
Down East Maine's Cobscook Bay area is a great place to bird. There is such diverse habitat - boreal and northern hardwood forests, bogs, fresh- and salt-water marshes, grassy and shrubby fields, streams and lakes, steep rugged headlands, extensive tidal flats, and coastal islands.  What's not to like???!!

The non-profit Cobscook Community Learning Center is hosting this year's festival.  So, check out the schedule and sign up - see you there!
