Along with the fairly consistent (and cold) rain here, a flood of sparrows arrived overnight.
There are fair numbers along the road edge from Frazer Point to campus, and on campus
itself there are hundreds: lots of Chipping and White-throated, fair numbers of Savannah, and (so far)
a dozen or so boldly adorned White-crowneds!
A push of Hermit Thrush are also about.
Also delighted in seeing two Red Crossbill on the ground among 4 White-crowned Sparrow foraging along
a forest edge grassy area right beside a campus trail.
Many juncos, robins and flickers here as well.
Somedays it pays to be near the tip of this peninsula!
