[Maine-birds] Isles of Shoals CBC - 34 Species

17 people gathered yesterday for the Isles of Shoals CBC.  We left New Castle on the Gulf Challenger at 9 am, stopped at Star Island for an hour before circling the Isles and heading north to Boon Island Light off of York County.  Highlights included 2 Snowy Owls, 4 Dovekies (including nice views of a bird near the shore of Star Island), and good looks at Kittiwakes and Razorbills.  No new species were found, and one new high count was recorded (Common Loon).  Notable landbirds included an American Crow (5th count record, first since 1982), Hermit Thrush(3rd count record), and 2 Carolina Wrens (2nd count record).
