Visitors:
37 people visited the hawkwatch.

Weather:
It was another nice and clear day, with temperatures in the forties and climbing to low fifties in the afternoon. Light to moderate winds were mostly from the north during the morning, becoming more northeasterly during the afternoon. Heat haze impacted visibility slightly during the second half of the count.

Raptor Observations:
It was another good day for hawkwatching on Bradbury Mountain, with decent numbers. Osprey, Sharp-shinned Hawks, and Broad-winged Hawks made up the majority of the flight. Most birds were very distant and flying low today. This was especially evident during late afternoon, when many birds dipped below horizon.

Non-raptor Observations:
31 bird species were seen and/or heard. Both waxwing species made an appearance, including a flock of 14 Bohemian Waxwings and a later flock of seven Cedar Waxwings. Tree Swallows are continuing to trickle through, and it was pleasant to hear their gurgling calls as they zipped around the summit. At least three Pine Warblers were singing nearby during much of the day. Species deemed migrating:
26 Tree Swallows
22 Double-crested Cormorants
6 blackbird sp.
3 finch sp.
1 duck sp.
1 Mallard

Predictions:
It should be another clear, warm day tomorrow, with highs in the mid-fifties. Winds are expected to be a bit stronger and gustier than today, at 10-20 mph and from the north. Although the stronger winds are not ideal, a fair number of birds should be moving through, driven to move towards their breeding grounds and establish territories.
