Re: [Maine-birds] Black-crowned Night Herons--Mercy Pond; NSHO Scar. Marsh

Jim

Nice shot of the BCNH at Mercy Pond! I forgot to ask if the Osprey nest across the road from Mercy had an Osprey back on it. There was one there last week, but not earlier this week when I saw the Night Herons.

This morning there was an Osprey back on Light Array for the airport off I-295 on Fore River. You shouldn't stop on I-295, but if you are heading south on Memorial Bridge near Gas Tanks , there is a wide breakdown lane that will give you the best view of that nest.

Happy birding

Ron C. - Thx for taking me to Mercy Pond a couple of weeks ago.  I was out there today around 1:00 (cold and windy) and had the camera with me.  Managed to get a couple of decent photos of one of the Black Crowned Night Herons.  This is my first reply/ post to the site...so hopefully the pics are attached.    Jim T
