[Maine-birds] Re: New Sidney/Belgrade birds

Should say blue headed vireo, not warbler. I am not a multi-tasker.

What a difference a day makes!

I woke this morning to singing bobolinks and my yard catbird--also singing white crowned sparrows on their way through, plus yellow rumped warblers and a pair of purple finches.  We have a phoebe nesting on our shed for the first time plus possibly 4 pairs of tree swallows sorting out who gets which box. We have housing for all.

Later in Belgrade I checked on the purple martins and a few are back. I also heard my first N. Parula. Yesterday I rescued a stunned blue headed warbler from the edge of the Depot Road. Unfortunately I couldn't rescue the black and white warbler at Chipotle in Augusta because it had collided with a window. I emailed the company about putting up something to make their windows bird safe.

Happy spring birding, the most wonderful time of the year.
