[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights, 12/29-1/3


Hi all,
My observations of note over the past six days included the following:
- 1 continuing drake BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, Winslow Park, Freeport (first spotted with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group on 12/21).
- The annual mid-winter "Meganser Hat Trick" is back at the Lower Falls Landing/Yarmouth Town Landing in Yarmouth.
- 1 continuing KILLDEER, Pond Cove, Cape Elizabeth, 12/29.
- 1 GLAUCOUS X HERRING GULL HYBRID and 4 Swamp Sparrows, Private Property in Cape Elizabeth, 12/29.
- 2 drake and 1 hen BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, Trundy Point, Cape Elizabeth, 12/29.
- 6 Brant, Kettle Cove, Cape Elizabeth, 12/29.
- 3 amazingly continuing TREE SWALLOWS, 3 Horned Larks, etc, Crescent Beach State Park, Cape Elizabeth, 12/29.
- 1 continuing American Kestrel and 1 Swamp Sparrow, Weskeag Marsh, Thomaston, 1/1 (with Paul Doiron, Kristen Lindquist, and Jeannette).
- 2 Chipping Sparrows, North Street, Portland, 1/2.
- 1 ad and 3 1st-winter Iceland Gulls, Portland Harbor, 1/2.
