Hi all--
Yesterday (22 May) took the day off to visit Grafton Notch, then Brownfield Bog.
Despite the early drizzle and cool temp., great birding.
Was able to find all 5 regularly-occuring Maine vireo spp, with
excellent looks at all.
Philadelphia easy to spot in birches along Rt. 26 at higher end of
GNSP, esp AT trailhead parking lot, then further north just outside
the park, at "Poppel Dam" Road on the right. Yellow-throated vireo
noisy and conspicuous at Brownfield.
Very high numbers of Least FC at both sites, and extraordinary numbers
of Warbling vireos at Brownfield. Female Bay-breasted warbler and lots
of Blackpoll warblers also at Brownfield.
Best--
