You all know Celestial Farms (Androsgoggin Cty.). On Rabbit Rd, corner of Davis Rd, just E of Runaround Pond. Beautiful ranch with scores of undulating white fences. Huge hayfields both sides of the road.
The hayfields were teeming with bobolink activity yesterday early morning. And a Grasshopper Sparrow crossed the road in front of my truck, landing on the gravel edge for a very brief look. This needs confirmation as this is not very good Grasshopper habitat. Might have been a migrant looking for a better place.
Worth a pause anyway as you pass, for the Bobolink activity here.
