[Maine-birds] TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, Florida Lake Park, YES as of 7:35.

Hi all,

Jeannette and I spotted the TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, discovered yesterday by Zane Baker, at Florida Lake Park in Freeport (off Rte 125/Wardtown Rd) at 7:15 this morning.

It was in the top of a pine in the grove as described in Jeannette's post yesterday. It then flew down to the edge of the marsh, and fed on Multiflora Rose and Winterberry. After 15 minutes, it flew to the top of a maple along the dike, before dropping down into the woods (there are patches of Winterberry scattered throughout the park).

Following yesterday's posted directions, at the bridge, begin to scan treetops and Winterberry shrubs.

A truant RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was also present.
