[Maine-birds] Aroostook morning: Virginia Rail and Cape May; Seawall in Acadia: Bl Scoter rafts

Hi all -- hit McRae Flats and Christina Reservoir in Ft. Fairfield very early this morning. 9 Least Sands, Bobolink at McRae; Virginia Rail and a female Cape May Warbler on the s. dike at Christina Reservoir. Spitting rain throughout.

Tonight just before dark (half-an-hour ago), my wife and I admired two very large rafts of Black Scoter just off Seawall Picnic Area in Acadia. The closest raft looked at first like a new reef, that's how tightly packed they all were. And then they'd all dive synchronously. Calling their plaintive whistle as well. Lovely. Estimate 350 total.
