[Maine-birds] Purple Finch. 3 pair!

Sanford. Looked out at my feeder where there was a red finch, then a female Purple Finch with the eyebrow line. Checked the red finch carefully...white breast with red streaks, red not brown cap, and with the female Purple Finch. Soon another pair and then another. 6 birds all at once. (This description is an example of why I use upper case for actual names of birds. )

Also spied a male towhee eating seeds under my pine as I had driven in. The neighbor cat which had been sitting nearby, scrammed home across the street. No harm done, except my dismay.
