First R-t Hummer of spring today in SW Harbor at our feeder
-- Other firsts:
B-h Vireo, R-c Kinglet at Witch Hole Pond Loop (also Common Loon in Witch Hole Pond)
Warbler fall-out and firsts:
In Somesville in the Cemetery and Somes Pond Outlet / fish ladder this morning (behind the former Higgins General Store) a fallout of at least 40 apiece Palm and Yellow-rumps, first of spring Pine, Black-and-White and N. Parula, plus R-c Kinglet. The warblers were amazing: everywhere flitting and hungrily hawking insect prey throughout the cemetery and along the flowage between Somes Pond and the Somesville Mill Pond. It was one of those moments that a birder doesn't forget.
Best,
Craig K
