At last! The day we look forward to all year. After a dearth of Whimbrel sightings we finally picked up 32 of them this morning around 830. The morning light was just perfect!
-- The mudflats are full of shorebirds - 60+ Short-billed Dowitchers, 200+ Black-bellied Plover, 700+ Semipalmated Plover and 500+ Semipalmated Sandpipers. If all goes as usual, the numbers will get higher as the migration swings into full bore! These winds out of the north really helped.
