Hello Maine Bird Atlassers-
-- Have you ever looked at a checklist from last year and noticed that your breeding code was crossed out? Not all codes can be applied to all birds, but it's not easy to remember or check in the field. That's why I made an app you can bookmark on your phone, Check Acceptable Breeding Codes. Just enter the species and the code you want to use, and it will tell you if it is most likely, occasional, rarely, or not seen with that species. The information and color codes come from the document on the IFW site, Acceptable Breeding Behavior Codes by Species, and the descriptions of the codes comes from the Breeding Behavior Codes summary. The URL is https://christinemurr.shinyapps.io/checkBreedingCodes/, or https://tinyurl.com/BreedingCodes. It complements the Check Safe Dates app.
I hope someone can get some use out of it before the breeding season ends. Feedback welcome.
-Christine
