[Maine-birds] Red-necked Grebe Roque Bluffs 20 Nov

Red-necked Grebes have been here at Roque Bluffs all week. Wally heard one doing an "alert" call a few days ago, very near the shore, and it was fun to confirm the call with the Cornell on-line website. This afternoon I took some (awful) photos of a single Grebe near shore at the small tidal inlet near us. I thought it was a Red-necked Grebe, and I still think that. It has a a flat head, but its bill looks a little short. So, if you happen to look at e-bird for Washington County, you can check out my (awful) photos and if you know this to be other than the Red-necked (like, maybe a Horned Grebe), please let me know and I'll change the info at e-bird. Thank you. Carol
