Sally and saw several birds that we assume were Hermit Thrushes near
Sawyer Pond in the White Mountains. They had spots on their backs and
on the top of the head though. We figured they must be juveniles, but
we can not find pictures of any Thrushes with these spotty backs.
Juvenile robins have a similar look on the backs, but the rest of the
bird is very different.
Any thoughts?
