Comments: Barbara and Dick Leighton. First stop of the morning produced a small mixed flock of birds including 1 male Black-throated Blue Warbler
7 species
Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) 1 We watched as this immature Osprey practiced diving into the water, taking off from the water than diving in again and again sometimes tapping its talons in the water. This went on for about 20 dives before it flew back to a perch. This behavior has been observed in the past by me. I do not think there were any fish to catch so it was just for fun?
Belted Kingfisher (Megaceryle alcyon) 1
American Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos) 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch (Sitta canadensis) 6
Golden-crowned Kinglet (Regulus satrapa) 4
Black-throated Blue Warbler (Setophaga caerulescens) 1 phished him right over for some great photos.
