[Maine-birds] Lubec Shorebirds and Bonaparte's Gulls

South Lubec Sandbar,  Large groups of peeps – mixed Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, Semipalmated Plovers. Many Black-bellied Plovers. Several groups of Sanderlings. Heaviest concentrations seen from the clam digger’s pull off on the way to Quoddy Head and on the beach near the curve just beyond road to Carrying Place Cove. Most birds seen as tide was coming in – 9:30 to 11 a.m. Most shorebirds I have seen so far this year.

Flock of 25 Bonaparte’s Gulls kiting for insects over my house on North Lubec Rd. this afternoon between 3 and 4 p.m.
