[Maine-birds] Wilson's Warbler in Addison, Flying Ant Swarm and Birds in Harrington

Around noon we saw an adult female Wilson's Warbler among a warbler flock in alders along the road downstream from the Addison boat landing.  It was attended by Common Yellowthroats, immature and adult Canada Warblers and a fledgling/juvenile Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

On our way home we stopped for gasoline where we observed a huge kettle of gulls over "downtown" Harrington .  The gulls were quite high in the sky and circling towards the southeast (migration???).

Around 4:30 pm a flying ant swarm broke out over our house and a horde of passerines (Black-capped Chickadees, Red-breasted Nuthatches, Eastern Phoebes, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Magnolia Warblers, American Redstarts) were fly-catching all around us and over us!  Then the Herring Gulls, Ring-billed Gulls, Bonaparte's Gulls and Common Nighthawks joined in and gave us some great  acrobatic aerial entertainment during our evening meal al fresco on the deck!

Flat Bay mudflats continue to host many hundreds of peeps.  Also Black-bellied Plover, both yellowlegs and Short-billed Dowitchers.
