It is, Skip. Thank you. It emphasizes a point which I have tried to make to birders over the years - mostly unheard. Specifically, that this is an issue that can be addressed most effectively by stressing the compatibility of each side's interest, i.e., the win-win result of keeping house cats inside - better for the cat AND wildlife - rather than going off on a rant about "unreasonable, irrational cat lovers" and shutting off discussion by expressing the desire for all types of harm to befall the cat who is not responsible for the owner's irresponsible decision.

PS
In the interest of full disclosure, my husband & I live w/ 4 cats who love dearly and keep inside both for their safety and that of the birds, chipmunks, mice, voles, snakes, frogs & toads which also call our yard home. I didn't grow up keeping cats inside but came to that via education both by my cats' vet & the environmental community. So it can be done.
