This morning (9:30am) an adult breeding plumage Black Skimmer was observed resting along the south shore of the lagoon at Popham Beach State Park. When first seen the bird was dozing, but took flight briefly and landed back in the same spot at the edge of the lagoon. The bird was still resting when last observed.
