[Maine-birds] Scarborough Marsh (2 SNOW, 2 NSHO, 1 GLIB. etc.), Westbrook (CANV), Portland (White-winged gulls), 3/28/14

Hi all,

Kristen Lindquist and I birded the area today, yielding the following highlights:

-Scarborough Marsh:
2 SNOWY OWLS
2 drake NORTHERN SHOVELERS (1 Eastern Rd, 1 Jones Creek)
1 GLOSSY IBIS (FOY; a little early, surprisingly. Jones Creek.)
2 Northern Harriers (FOY)
8 Wood Ducks
1 Northern Pintail
7 Green-winged Teal
18 Horned Larks
5 Great Blue Herons
1 Killdeer
1 Peregrine Falcon

-Westbrook Riverwalk:
1 drake CANVASBACK
8 Ring-necked Ducks
1 adult "Westbrook Gull"

-Capisic Pond Park:
Noticeable influx of sparrows led by 20+ White-throated Sparrows and 18 Song Sparrows

-Portland Harbor:
4 first-cycle Glaucous Gulls
18 Iceland Gulls (16 first cycle, 1 second cycle, 1 third cycle)
