The heavy rain and high tides opened up much of the marsh today. Afternoon species included 8 great blue herons, 20 CAGOs, 80 black ducks, 3 gadwall, 1 drake shoveler, 3 pintails, 1 common merg. About 150 ring-billed gulls plunge diving on small fish in the main channel.
