[Maine-birds] MACHIAS SEAL ISLAND REPORT

Raptors were mainly MERLINS today, perhaps a dozen total.
Only 2 KESTRELS & 1 (resident) EAGLE seen.

I picked up a dead BROWN THRASHER and saw 4 others alive and well.

HERMIT THRUSHS are up to about 20 today and I saw the first VEERY this morning.
No other thrushs identified.

A handful of PALM WARBLERS are new since yesterday.

COMMON EIDERS have increased quite a bit around the island in recent days.
Some are likely migrants but a lot appear to be returning breeding residents.

Bird Of The Day : EASTERN PHOEBE. Two seen late this afternoon.
