[Maine-birds] indigo buntings and least flycatcher

I had a personal record four male indigo buntings in a friend's yard today in N. Belgrade. I feel lucky when I see one per summer, so four in a day is pretty amazing. They were hanging out in an area with old apple trees, singing.

Closer to home in Sidney, the first least flycatcher was "singing" along the Goodhue Road.

Yesterday a house wren appeared in my yard--only the second time ever--just in time for a birdwalk I led for the girl scouts. We had 27 species all together, though nothing unusual. The house wren was singing away this morning still.

Still haven't seen a redstart around here...

Good birding,
Julia
