Hi,
This morning, four immature starlings sat on a power cable at the Owls Head lobster pound. One bird produced absolutely convincing renditions of killdeer and greater yellowlegs calls. I've heard adult starlings imitate a range of other species, but was a bit surprised that so young a bird had acquired these songs so early in its life development.
