Visitors:
10 people visited the Hawkwatch today.

Weather:
It was another mostly pleasant day at the summit with clear skies and abundant sunshine. But, temps stayed right around the freezing mark. The wind was mostly light to moderate out of the NNW, but stronger gusts would blow through a few times each hour, making it feel colder than it was. The winds finally calmed down in the late afternoon hours allowing the ravens to have some playtime.

Raptor Observations:
There was not a lot of local raptor activity today. A few Bald Eagles were in the air, along with Red-tailed Hawks (including one immature bird that was hunting). The Red-taileds became a bit more active in the afternoon. The local Red-shouldered Hawk and Cooper's Hawk put in brief appearances.

Non-raptor Observations:
Other species deemed migrating included: 81 Canada Geese 6 American Robins 6 Red-winged Blackbirds And, 9 American Robins and 3 Common Grackles were spotted heading south.

Predictions:
HIgh pressure will remain in control for another day. After a cold start, light winds will allow that March sun to bring temps back up to seasonal norms, or thereabouts. Winds are forecast to be very light, slowly rotating from the north to SW, perhaps by the count day's end. That should signal the start of our next pulse of migrants ahead of our next weather system.
