Visitors:
15 people came to inquire about the hawkwatch today.

Weather:
It certainly was blustery today but the trees surrounding the summit took the brunt of the trauma. Even so, winds were still pretty strong and a few gusts did have my tripod on two legs a couple times. Thankfully the blue skies and bright sun helped to keep things from feeling too frigid. Air temps hovered just above the freezing mark all day. A few clouds came and went in the NW winds. Visibility was very good all day long.

Raptor Observations:
Wading through my writing is a big enough joke, so I'll spare everyone any April fools shenanigans. Most of today's activity occurred in the early part of the day, with a couple of Northern Harriers being the highlight of my day. Local Eagles were all over the place the whole day, chasing and diving upon one another. A couple harmonizing Chickadees were interrupted to sound the alarm as a male Kestrel popped up unannounced, disappearing back down below the summit when faced with the challenging winds.

Non-raptor Observations:
A very short species list today with only 17 birds. There were a couple of ducks moving north and a small reverse migration of Robins.

Predictions:
Tomorrow looks to be a little more mild than today, with highs in the 40s. However, there will be an onshore breeze bringing the temps down a bit at the summit I'm guessing. Winds may be fairly strong but from the south, which hopefully brings some migrants for Jeannette and Derek. Clouds may increase as the day progresses.
