[Maine-birds] Surprising yard bird

The wet spring has brought a snipe to our property, feeding along our basement drain channel, which is currently at a volume that would support salmon smolt.  Handsome spring plumage, and I've not noticed before but the common snipe bobs just a bit as it feeds, as do several water-edge birds, not all of which are Scolopacids.  Yesterday had two bright male palm warblers in the apple tree above the snipe.
