[Maine-birds] Great show on Seal I NWR trip, but the star was missing

Laura Blutstein and I took the Isle au Haut Ferry's Puffin Cruise to Seal I yesterday, leaving at 1:00 pm from Stonington.  We had a great day on the water with hundreds of plunge-diving N. Gannets (mostly 1st summer, but a few older birds as well), lots of both Arctic and C. Terns including fledglings; DC and Gt Cormorants; many guillemots, Razorbills and Atlantic Puffins, plus a single Common Murre;  and a single Gr. Shearwater, this last seen only poorly.   But, the hoped-for Red-billed Tropicbird was nowhere to be seen.  eBird list will be uploaded when we resolve an internet issue.

Our thanks to naturalist Laura [lastname?] and Capt Tracy!
