Visitors:
8 people visited the hawk watch today.
Weather:
Plenty of sunshine today. The morning started off just above freezing with temperatures rising gradually to about 50 degrees through the day. Winds were moderate with a few heavy gusts out of the west for most of the day, teetering slightly southwest in the afternoon.
Raptor Observations:
Decent push of migrants today. I expected more but the winds may have been just a little too strong. At this point in the season we expect to see birds moving any day that isn't fraught with extreme wind or weather.
Non-raptor Observations:
28 species were observed from the summit today. Individuals deemed migrating included: 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers 2 Canada Geese 3 Tree Swallows 1 Barn Swallow 1 European Starling 2 duck sp.
Predictions:
A cooler day tomorrow. Light to moderate northeast winds to start the day tomorrow, shifting east by afternoon. Slight chance of precipitation tomorrow, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. If winds aren't too strong tomorrow we may see some birds moving.
