The exotic spruce plantation (Norway?) is feeding flocks of both species of crossbill. Yesterday we found at least 50 Reds and about 10 White-winged at the site. There is plenty of room to park and although they are high in the trees, they are easy to observe.
-- It was raining spruce cone bracts on us. I would think they would continue a the site for some time because the cone crop appears to be very heavy.
Good birding,
tom
